Coming to India!

Every year in the winter, just like the birds migrate south to warmer climate zones, I make my annual trip to India to spend time with family, friends and amongst a billion other people in a land I call home.

This time, I am going to be in India in 5 different cities over a period of 5 weeks. I look forward to catching up with a lot of people and catching a glimpse of the emerging new India.

My itinerary looks like this (I land in Chennai on Dec 28, 11:50 pm IST):

Dec 29 - Dec 30 -- Chennai
Dec 30 - Jan 4 -- Kolkata
Jan 4 - Jan 5 -- Hyderabad
Jan 6 - Jan 8 -- Bangalore
Jan 9 - Jan 23 -- Hyderabad
Jan 23 - Jan 28 -- Mumbai (business trip)
Jan 28 - Jan 29 -- Chennai

Sending me email is always the most reliable way of reaching me. I would be happy to meet up so please drop me a line if you’d like to meet up for a coffee or something. I will have a cellphone in India. As soon as I get myself a prepaid card, I will post my phone number here so watch this space.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Update (Jan 4, 2005): My cell number in India is +91-98851-33010

I notice that you, like I did on http://www.derekandanjana.net, chose the map of India showing Kashmir as we saw it in 7th std. geography… coincidence ??

Not a coincidence, really. LIke most Indians, I like to believe that the map of India looks like this, irrespective of political realities. Also, I just found this on http://www.mapsofindia.com – didn’t really try to consciously locate one with Kashmir shown as disputed territory :-)
