It’s that time of the year again. The time of the year that, as a child, I would spend the rest of the year waiting for. It’s Diwali!
I spoke to my mother last night and told her how much I wished I was in India to celebrate Diwali with her, my father, and Rahul. She was missing me a lot too and recounted stories of how, as a child, I would plan months in advance for Diwali by fetching price lists from various shops, planning how much I needed of each kind of firecracker (the “Lakshmi bomb”, the “hydrogen bomb”, etc.), carefully taking into account which shops were offering the best prices. Apparently I started doing this around the age of 7!
It amused me to listen to those stories and think of the sound of firecrackers ripping the air and rockets colouring the sky. Maybe next year, I’ll make it to India for Diwali
Here’s wishing all my blog readers a very happy and prosperous Diwali! Hope you have a great year ahead.
