Right Now It's Time to Watch a Video!

Sometimes the most innocuous little thing can stir you into action. The most inconspicuous little thing has the capacity to stir memories from the good old days of your life in the four walls of a secluded campus in Madras. Sometimes the most harmless little thing makes you laugh like nothing else, reminds you of the all amazing people that you spent some of the best years of your life with and makes you realize that year after year, things continue to remain just the same in the 635-acre campus that you called home for 4 years of your youth.

This evening, I returned from work to find that my brother, Rahul, had sent me the AVI file for the video that he had made for the Godavari Hostel Nite (an annual affair where a hostel in IIT Madras hosts a dinner and cultural program for the rest of the campus).

The video, titled “Right Now”, was made in the most unusual manner possible. Since I don’t want to give it all away, I encourage everyone (with a reasonably fat Internet pipe) to download and watch this video. The song in the video is Van Halen’s “Right Now” which inspired much of the way the video was made [wait for the very end of the video for the "Behind the Scenes" section].

I guarantee you will love it :-)

Right Now
(Dir & Prod: Rahul, Gandalf, Shivaji)

[The video's size is 105 MB and playback requires a DivX codec which can be found here. If the video does not play smoothly at its original size (640x480), try playing it back at half-size]
