Apartment Hunting – Day Two

The second day has definitely turned out to be far more successful. I set off in the afternoon once again and this time I had more accurate directions so there wasn’t much scope for getting lost :-) The plan was to meet up with Aparna (my classmate from undergrad in IIT Madras) for the first time in 2 and a half years while also checking out apartments in the Newport/Pavonia area.

It was great to see Apu again. We had lunch at a lovely Italian restaurant and talked a lot.

The apartments I saw today were simply exquisite. The whole Newport area has been developed very well and I just loved it. I think I am almost sold on living in Newport and commuting to Manhattan in just half an hour!

An apartment on the 30th floor and a view of the Manhattan skyline – just perfect!

This picture is my favourite from today (although it is funky in a strange kind of way with its slight blurriness):

Tomorrow I check out apartments in Manhattan although I doubt very much if I anything there is going to beat all this for the same price! Still, it’s always good to be open to all ideas!

I notice that many of my pictures too came out the same way with that slight hazy or foggy or blurry look, add to that the copper brownish tint across the middle…

oops, I meant to say, “many of my pictures with the same view”

Well, I deliberately took the picture without a flash and with such little light, the blurriness was bound to be there :-)

That tint is because of the time of the day, right ? I thought it was because of the sun setting etc.
