More on Dilbert and IITians

Here’s a short article that appeared in the Economic Times about Dilbert and his poking fun at us IITians. An excerpt:

If the spoof shows up the IIT grad as a bizarre geek, it also offers a voice to the Indian takeover of the world of hi-tech professionals.

Behind the portrayal of the Indian techie – the IITian – as a work maniac who has inhuman abilities to slog and thus outpace his American counterparts lies the growing negativity towards this breed on the part of Americans who feel they’re losing their jobs to more competent Indians.

India’s IITs have, of course, been the subject of admiration – now bordering on envy – in corporate America for more than five years now.

I am going to post my thoughts on this whole backlash against Indian techies very soon. Stay tuned.

    its this fobbish thing, where you always have to affirm that you are better than others, get over it.. try to see around, there are more indians who are not from iits in america, and to my knowledge are successful..
    dont get stuck up about some school you went to.. its the person that matters most

    Yes,That’s absolutely right.
    I have seen many IITians who thinks others are fools.I think few of them will spend their life singing the same song
    “I AM AN IITIAN AND I AM THE BEST”
    And people who shouts the most are those who have nothing else to do and who do not want to face the reality or iff I may add are total failure.
    Believe me there are huge no. of them.

    Guys and Girls these are IITians,the educated class;using abusive language.Bumboo who so ever you are,your institution tag will take you no where in life,just can help you in a good start.It’s upto the individual and his/her abilities later in the life which varies.If not so,than every year more than 2000 engineers pass through IIT ,how many of them actually make up to the top.So Guys wake up!!!!!!!!
