For All Those Who Care About Good Sound

Rahul has often told me about what an amazing band Rush is. I think I must walk down to the Vintage Vinyl store on Delmar and pick up one of their older albums – it has been a while since I bought myself some good Rock music.

But meanwhile, here is a very interesting article on how record companies are destroying the sound of good Rock bands that I came across. It is reasonably technical but if you have a passion for flawless acoustics (like Rahul and me), I promise you will learn quite a bit.

Terrific article. Tell me if any universities you know offer courses in sound engineering!

About Rush, I haven’t really listened to any albums completely. I just sang Resist at Inter IIT in Kharagpur. Was listening to Tom Sawyer, quite by chance yesterday. Plan to make better use of the eight or nine albums I have of theirs on my harddisk

    Rahul.

I’ll post this on your blog site as well Rahul but I do believe, Universities like Berkley, UPenn offer graduate courses in Sound Engineering. Of Berkley I’m sure, since my friend Ram-mohan from school did both his under-grad & grad in that field of expertise.
