For a while now, Angelo, Pavan and I have been working on getting something out of the door for the Boeing people.
Our work involves some heavy use of GCJ and CNI to plug FACET into their OEP platform in place of the real-time event channel that TAO provides. I have to admit that this task has been fun to some extent because it gives you the chance to do some neat inter-operation of Java and C++ classes. However, the task at hand now involves getting my hands dirty with the crappiest piece of code I have ever seen – the Boeing OEP. It is massive and ugly. I can’t even begin to comprehend how much more pain I am going to experience but I shall do my best since we have a deadline – and don’t we all know how important deadlines are ?
Meanwhile, my car has finally been christened “Becky” after nobody at all. If you are searching really hard in an attempt to link me up with yet another woman, I advise you to stop right here. I assure you that there is absolutely no connection of any kind with any person, male or female
I happened to get pretty lucky on my license plates too – 344 TAN.
Anyhow, it is back to the Boeing work I guess. In case I do manage to end up doing nothing at all of any use, I think I am going to be as innovative as Calvin :
