There used to be a time in my life when I wrote my blog [back then it was famously known as my 'activity log'] every single day. At least it appeared like I was writing it every day because I sometimes wrote many days together and put the dates in myself. But with a blog that doesn’t make sense anymore and so I have changed my style accordingly. Of course, not being able to write everyday is usually a product of a good many things like being lazy about it, or being plain forgetful or, if you please, being too busy
And as you can see, I prefer attributing it to being too busy !
Constant change is a good thing in my opinion. It keeps one alert and active and more importantly, ensures that one’s mind is not too entrenched in something to fiercely resist change even if it is good for it. I myself find that something as simple as changing my web browser to something a little more complex, like alternating the side of the bed you like to sleep on can make a difference. Although some people think that being like that automatically means you have no concept of consistency and permanence, I don’t think that is necessarily true.
Anyway, a certain two people here at Wash U, in the recent past have deemed it appropriate to let me know that from my blog, it seems that my life was “rather boring.” Now it isn’t that I can’t take criticism but it really is quite simple as this : if you say it repeatedly, even if you just mean to pull my leg, it stops being funny. And two, I write my blog purely for myself – it is a coincidence that it happens to be on the web and a bunch of other people read it too but I really don’t care whether you find my life interesting or not. I don’t write my blog to let the world learn from me how to be cool
So what have I been upto these last few days ? Yesterday, after turning in my assignment I worked on creating the flyer for ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ which Umang is screening this Friday :

Went bowling on Friday night with Debalina, Tarannum and Masood. Beat them all hollow with a 125, hehe. On Saturday night, we attended the CASI function where Vidye was singing a song. The overall programme was monumentally boring but the songs were nice and Vidye sang really well too so that was good
We got back home after that and then went to Nik’s Wine Bar for some margarita and food. Ended up drinking one and a half Blue Print margaritas and man, was I feeling it a bit in my head. Hmm.
Lazed around most of Sunday. Attended the Umang meeting where we discussed a bunch of things for our Diwali celebrations. Thai dinner and a good end to a nice weekend
okay…my first entry in your blog. it is fascinating to see an entire medium being opened up which can bridge spatial and temporal distances…:-)
anyway, keep blogging and hopefully i will join too.
btw, i don’t agree with the description of the movie…:-) probably because i over-analyzed it!
The description of the movie is something I found on some Bollywood movie reviews site so it isn’t my opinion either
But it is a great movie
your blog is quite good……. you say you are lazy and you’ve created such a wonderful blog…. how did you get the time to create it? It seems you are the one who influenced my friend to blog, who in turn influenced me to blog….
Well, its good that you don’t care what others think about your blog…… which ofcourse i don’t agree….. don’t tell me that you don’t feel elated when others admire your blog…..
what you think?
Hi Manjunath, good to meet you
So who is this friend who was influenced by me to blog ?
Anyway, to clarify things, I have to admit that it is nice when somebody says once in a while that they like my blog but to hear repeatedly about my life being boring is not fun
I mean, come on, I am human too
But on one level, I really just write this blog for myself. Honestly.
Samosas! w00t!
hi Ravi,
the one who was influenced by you is ashwin…
http:\symonds.net\~ash
He’s the one who influenced me to blog.
About your life being boring, you can distinguish between who’s saying that? If someone very distinguished(genuine actually) says that, they you can take that as an advice and try to (may be change)…. or if the person is just passing comments then you can ignore it.
Remember even they are human!!!!!!
If its any solace Ravi, I don’t think your blog makes your life look boring. Au contraire, I cringe and think my existence is so bland
.
I don’t think I will ever post my blog publicly, if anything I dissociate myself and my blog as much as I can.
Keep writing !
p.s: have started dabbling in gtk finally, and your partially to blame
Your LB2001 photos are up -

ravi> Samosas! w00t!
Heh, w00t it is indeed
I can’t wait for the evening !
Anyway, thanks for the encouraging comments on my blog guys. I do understand that some people are not meant to be taken seriously but I probably just get carried away when I post
Fake, thanks for the link, I already found this just after LB 2001 actually and it is really sad that I can’t make it for LB 2002 – my semester gets over only in mid Dec and I come to Chennai on Dec 29
Oh and Daddy, good to know you are into Gtk
You should see my GNOME 2 desktop !
As Ravi would say, “w00t !”
Is daddy um, *the* daddy of yours, or is it yet another IITM nickname for someone?
dude, parsing your blog comments are just crazy. Everytime I read a comment, I go, “ah, I’m not Ravi” … and my mind goes for a spin! ::grin::
I was not, am not, and will not be daddy_of_ravi.
I transcend that.
