Another one joins the bloggers

So undoubtedly the news of highest priority this nice Tueday morning is that Vidye has begun blogging ! Last night she posted her first entry [with due persuasion from me ;-) ] so please congratulate her ! I can only hope that more of my dudes join the world of blogging :-)

This morning I got up as usual around 9:15 or so and did something different for a change as I dressed after my bath – I pressed my clothes for the day on my shiny new ironing stand :-) It sure did feel good ! This way I can press as I need clothes instead of being totally overwhelmed by a huge batch in one go :-) Neat.

This is the first site I am visiting on my new laptop :-) – just thought I’d add a comment and mention that PonDellMoon is finally here! :-D (for more details about the name, contact Ravi or me ;-) October 22, my first laptop, my dear own PonDellMoon, also known as Mylai :-) , is here! Thanks a million to dear Pondyman for helping me choose my laptop :-P !
    Raj :-D !

    Whats up with that?

    “The lowercase” ravi.

  • Ravi

Hehe, I knew you would ask about that. Raj called me ‘Pondyman’ and that later degenerated to Pondymoon apparently because I mooned too much about women to her on the phone :-) And since she bought herself a Dell laptop and wants to name her machine after me just like I named my Thinkpad after her, she decided on ‘PonDellMoon’

Crazy eh ? I totally agree :-) Oh and btw the connotation of pondy is the same as in Madras – everything to do with sex, porn, women, etc etc.

How come all Dell lusers come up with funky names, esp. with the “Dell” string in it? :) Like, pasokan (http://gpasokan.com/) has a box called “Dellbian” … and I was wondering if PonDellMoon was also a dell box …

    –> the connotation of pondy

    Long live madrasi jargon ;/

PS: Movabletype sucks. I don’t want to have to type “The lowercase ravi” everytime. No userpix for lusers? No html formatting. I mean, html in a blog is *divine* esp. when you solicit comments. Weird. I wonder if plone(.org) will be any good …

Ravi, go change your name or something :P

    Indignantly, the “rightful” ravi ;/

  • Ravi

Dude – you seem a little stressed out – are you okay ? :-) And btw, MovableType _does_ have an option of remembering all info about you so you really don’t have to type your name a hundred times :-P

  • Ravi

See, it remembers my info :-P Don’t you see a ‘Remember info?’ check box when you post a comment ?

–> Dude – you seem a little stressed out

    Yup, I am.

    –> are you okay ?

Not quite, I’m mostly foobar. *sigh*

–> have an option of remembering all info

That wasn’t *quite* what I meant. I meant more like LJ-types. With usepix, and stuff. Oh well, don’t fret about it. I just re-created my whole blog BTW. Check out http://ravirao.net/blog/ in case you care.

    –> Don’t you see a ‘Remember info?

Yeah yeah, I see it. Also, why’re you running v2.21 of MT? I mean, v2.5 is out …

PS: And oh yeah, my biggest whine with MT is the fact that I can’t have inline HTML in comments, *or* have stuff quoted. So I have to manually copy/paste stuff for context and prepend with a “–>” … too much for a lame comment on a blog, if you ask me … Oh well, I’ll stop whining anyway.

  • Ravi

Heh, I know what you mean now and yes I agree it would be fun to inline HTML in comments but there probably is a reason they made it that way.

And I have been to lazy to upgrade to MT 2.25 so I guess that will have to wait till a day I find nothing better to do ;-)

And am checking out your new blog right now !
